Arne Slot handed major headache vs Man United after Liverpool star’s ‘clueless’ international display

Arne Slot will be hoping to get his team back on track following a dreadful run of games leading into the international break.

Liverpool lost 2-1 to Chelsea to mark three consecutive defeats, having also lost to Galatasaray and Crystal Palace, with two of the games being decided by last-minute goals.

Alisson picked up a new injury in the Champions League, joining Giovanni Leoni and possibly Ibrahima Konate, who left the France camp before their game against Iceland.

Form has seen the Reds drop to second in the Premier League table, finally giving up top spot to Arsenal, and now they face a Man United side with three wins in their last five on Sunday, 19 October.

Milos Kerkez struggles in Hungary’s draw against Portugal

One player who has seriously struggled to bed in properly at Anfield is Milos Kerkez. The full-back was hooked just 10 minutes into the second half at Stamford Bridge.

Kerkez also failed to impress against Burnley, and his weaknesses on the pitch were highlighted further as Hungary claimed a last-gasp draw against Portugal thanks to his teammate Dominik Szoboszlai.

Reacting to the game, Nemzeti Sport [14 October] handed a five-out-of-ten rating to the left-back, criticising his frequency of backwards passes, also claiming that he “seemed clueless” at times.

While Slot’s team will be expected to claim all three points against the Red Devils once the Premier League returns, it will not be as simple as that, and Kerkez could be dropped as a result.

Andy Robertson’s campaign is yet to get off the ground

The main headache comes from the fact that, while the manager does have another option, it comes in the form of Scotland international Andy Robertson, who has done little to persuade the fans.

He was heavily linked with an exit during the summer transfer window, with many hoping that Kerkez would replace him, but the 31-year-old stayed to fight for his position.

His performances during the international break have been far more impressive than anything he has done back in England, so Slot may have to get creative with his left flank.
