Arne Slot in ‘serious trouble’ after external Liverpool sack conversations
Arne Slot is facing growing pressure on his position as Liverpool manager with the problems stacking up alongside a run of disastrous form.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Slot‘s biggest problem is his big-name players not stepping up.
The likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alexander Isak have been heavily criticised for their displays, with their declining performances raised as major concerns.
This comes after Curtis Jones publicly called upon his teammates to show some fight in the wake of Liverpool’s 4-1 defeat to PSV in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Slot is facing increasing calls for his head at Liverpool after sack conversations among supporters, and while he is believed to have the backing of the board for the time being, patience is quickly running out.

Liverpool stars causing major frustrations at Anfield
Brown told Football Insider on 23 October that Slot is concerned about key players at Liverpool, including Salah and Van Dijk, as a result of their drop in form.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that the big-name players must step up to turn things around.
“You can’t put your finger on one reason why Liverpool have struggled,” he told Football Insider.
“But I think their biggest players aren’t performing to the levels expected of them, and obviously that has a detrimental effect on the rest of the team.
“Mohamed Salah at his best, in an even game or when you were under the cosh, he would pop up with a moment of brilliance to turn things around.
“That’s not happening now, he’s drifting in and out of games and you don’t see him for long periods.
“Virgil van Dijk, he’s usually so commanding at the back with his presence, but he doesn’t look like he’s anywhere near the player he was at the moment.

“That’s Liverpool’s biggest problem, and if things don’t improve soon, they’re going to be in serious trouble, not just the manager but the players as well.
“It’s on them to turn things around, nobody’s going to do it for them, but at the same time the finger is going to be pointed at the manager.
“If you keep losing, you lose your morale and it’s hard to turn things around, but at some stage it’s all got to come to a head.”
Arne Slot sack update emerges at Liverpool
Football Insider revealed on 25 November that Liverpool’s hierarchy are backing Slot to turn things around despite what has been a nightmare campaign so far.
The Reds have now lost six of their last seven Premier League games and have shipped seven goals in their last two games at home, raising major concerns.
Fans are also beginning to turn on the manager, with questions asked about his decision-making and tactical setup after a dramatic change from last season’s success.
Brown told Football Insider on 24 November that Slot is facing “serious questions” at Liverpool, with frustrations now starting to boil over.
This comes after Football Insider revealed last month that Slot is not under immediate pressure at Liverpool, but frustrations have started to grow behind the scenes.
