Arne Slot told to ‘build the team around’ one ‘world-class’ Liverpool player – fans amazed

Arne Slot may have found a solution to Liverpool’s problems as the Reds picked up an important three points at West Ham.

Liverpool beat West Ham 2-0 to return to winning ways after a difficult week which included defeats against Nottingham Forest and PSV.

Slot dropped star Mo Salah for the contest, in a move which worked for the Dutchman with Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo netting the crucial goals.

It was Isak’s first Premier League goal since he joined Liverpool from Newcastle, but the striker was not the star of the show at the London Stadium.

Florian Wirtz ‘on another planet’ against West Ham

Slot started Florian Wirtz off the left against West Ham, and the German proved his worth with an excellent display.

Wirtz has been used off the left for Germany on international duty this season, in what is being tipped as the 22-year-olds best position.

The forward may not have got on the score sheet against West Ham, but it was one of his most positive showings in a Liverpool shirt since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool fans want Slot to “build the team around” Wirtz and continue playing the star off the left.
