Sources: Arsenal agree Leandro Trossard deal after snubs from three top targets

Arsenal have agreed a fee with Brighton for the transfer of Leandro Trossard, sources have told Football Insider.

The attacker, 28, has been given permission to head to the north Londoners to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of the deal.

It is believed that Arsenal have had a bid of an initial £20million accepted by Brighton that will rise to a potential £27m with add-ons.

The Gunners turned their attention to landing Trossard in the last 24 hours after snubs from three of their top forward targets.

Ukraine sensation Mykhailo Mudryk joined Chelsea last weekend after an astonishing £89million ambush, while Barcelona’s Raphinha and Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby are set to stay at their clubs after the Gunners registered their interest.

Football Insider broke the news last week (9 January) that Tottenham have had a verbal offer for Trossard rejected.

That offer was believed to have been worth around the £12m mark.

Arsenal have considerably improved on it as they look to provide Mikel Arteta with the attacking reinforcements he has made clear he needs following the knee injury to Gabriel Jesus.

Trossard has scored an impressive seven goals and registered a further three assists in just 16 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls this season.

Trossard is just one goal off matching his most productive Premier League season with Brighton after he scored eight goals in 34 appearances last season.

Trossard was absent for the club’s victories over Liverpool and Everton after falling out with manager Roberto De Zerbi.

After De Zerbi revealed that Trossard would be left out of Brighton’s Premier League clash with Liverpool, the player’s agent released a statement that he was “humiliated” by the Seagulls manager.
