Arsenal blow Tottenham out of the water after £320m+ reveal – Stefan Borson
Arsenal’s wage bill has increased dramatically as they look to consistently challenge at the top of the Premier League table.
The London giants came close to winning the title last season, but they were just edged out by Manchester City.
Arsenal suffered a £17.7million loss in the 2023-24 campaign despite posting a record-breaking revenue of £616.6million – marking a 32.1 per cent increase on the previous year.
However, the wage bill at the Emirates surged from £234.8million to £327.8million last season.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Arsenal have put distance between themselves and Tottenham following their wage bill increase.
Deloitte’s 2025 Money League revealed Spurs’ wage bill fell from £251million to £222million last season.
Arsenal currently sit second in the Premier League table, while Tottenham are 12th following their disappointing campaign.

Arsenal face £250m blow after new reveal
Borson admitted Arsenal’s wage bill increase shows how difficult it is to keep the figure below £250million when you qualify for the Champions League.
He told Football Insider: “The wage bill has gone up by over 30 per cent, which is not unexpected given what’s happened over the last few years in terms of the quality of the team and the qualification for the Champions League.
“But it is something that’s notable and something to watch.
“They have put distance between themselves and Tottenham for the first time in a couple of years.
“I think it just shows that if you start to get into the Champions League and start to have success on the field, the ability to keep that wage bill below £250million is very difficult.”
