Arsenal could sign ‘Richarlison’ after journalist’s update – pundit
Noel Whelan has suggested Wilfried Zaha could struggle to break into the Arsenal attack if he completes a late move to the league leaders.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, compared a potential move for the 29-year-old to Tottenham’s summer swoop for Richarlison – who is yet to start for his new side.
The Independent journalist Miguel Delaney claimed (29 August) Arsenal could go in for Zaha in the last days of the window after being priced out of a move for Pedro Neto.
The Ivory Coast international, who is also wanted by Chelsea, was left out of the matchday squad for Crystal Palace’s trip to Man City on Saturday (27 August).
Zaha is out of contract at Selhurst Park at the end of the season and can discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January.
He has already notched three goals in three games this season and has scored a total of 64 goals in the Premier League.
Whelan told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “He’s a very, very talented player.
“He went off to Man United for a lot of money a long time ago, it didn’t work out and he came back to Palace – and has been fantastic ever since.
“It’s very difficult to see where he’s going to fit into a team who are flying high at the top of the league, but bringing in players with quality will only add to their ammunition.

“When you look at their team – it is a formidable front four.
“It’s a little bit like the Richarlison situation at Tottenham. Where does he come in to this side – when they haven’t dropped a point and they’re flying high? It would be a shock, and like Arsenal signing Richarlison”.
