Arsenal expert issues ‘brilliant’ Darwin Nunez claim after transfer report – ‘I had a good look at him’
Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Benfica striker Darwin Nunez amid interest from Arsenal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton forward has been impressed by the “brilliant” 22-year-old after watching him closely against Liverpool in the Champions League.
Nunez is one of Europe’s hottest prospects heading into the summer transfer window after a prolific season with Benfica.

According to Football.London (19 April), Mikel Arteta’s side are plotting a move for the Uruguay international this summer.
The Gunners are said to be in the market for two strikers in the next transfer window with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both out of contract in a few months.
Nunez is under contract in Lisbon until the end of June 2025.
When asked by Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs for his assessment of the striker, Campbell said: “He looks brilliant.
“I had a good look at him over the two legs Benfica played against Liverpool and I was impressed.
“He is lively and seems a very good player. He has size, pace and occupies centre-halves. Defenders would have their hands full if he comes to the Premier League.
“It could be a very good one for Arsenal if they can get a deal over the line.”

Nunez has been one of the standout performers in Portugal this season.
He has contributed 33 goals and four assists in 39 games across all competitions.
