Jack Wilshere went off injured during Bournemouth’s 2-0 defeat against Manchester City on Monday night – and Arsenal fans on Twitter have wished him a speedy recovery.

The 25-year-old midfielder is on loan from Arsenal and has been a key member of Eddie Howe’s side this season, playing 20 consecutive games in the Premier League.

Wilshere went off with an ankle injury just before the half-time whistle with what would be another devastating blow to the player after suffering numerous injuries over the past seasons.

Understandably, fans of his parent club sympathised with him as he may be facing more time on the sidelines.

Wilshere’s contract at the Emirates Stadium is due to expire in 2018 and one fan asked if he has already signed a new deal with the north London outfit following his injury.

Furthermore, another supporter wished the England international a speedy recovery and stated that he was only just getting his groove back.

Raheem Sterling had opened the scoring for Pep Guardiola’s side prior to Wilshere being substituted with an own goal after the break ensuring the Manchester club took away all three points.

Nonetheless, the Arsenal faithful were hoping their player has suffered a small knock rather than more time out of action.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Wilshere has played 20 games for the Cherries this season, failing to score a goal, but he has provided two assists during those matches.
