Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Ozil display v Hull

By Dominic Toner

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil completed the full 90 minutes in the victory against Hull on Saturday – and the club’s supporters were extremely frustrated with his performance on Twitter.

The 28-year-old was unable to impress fans in the club’s 2-0 home victory against Hull in the Premier League.

Alexis Sanchez scored two goals to become the league’s leading goalscorer with 17 and continued his fantastic form this season.

The result takes the Gunners up to third in the league table and nine points behind leaders Chelsea, who travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Sunday.

Arsenal fans expressed their anger with Ozil’s performance despite the win and feel he went missing during the game.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Ozil has endured a mixed season for the Gunners and has come under criticism for his performances recently.

The Germany international has made 28 appearances across all competitions, scoring nine goals and supplying eight assists.

He has not managed a Premier League goal since the 10 December, which means it is now eight top-flight games now since he last netted.

Ozil and Arsenal will now turn their attention to mid-week as they prepare to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16 first leg.
