‘Arsenal fans will be going mad’ after transfer update – ‘everyone thought he was signing’
Arsenal are yet to start their summer business after missing out on the Premier League title in the 2024-25 campaign.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of upgrades to their squad after finishing second in the Premier League for the third consecutive season.
Mikel Arteta’s side are reportedly in the market for a new centre-forward – and the Spaniard also wants to add a centre-midfielder, left-winger, and a back-up goalkeeper.
However, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Arsenal are in advanced negotiations with Benjamin Sesko, and the club are also believed to be in prime position to bring Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga to the Emirates.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – revealed that he had expected something to happen at Arsenal in the first part of the transfer window, before it slammed shut on Tuesday (10 June).

‘Arsenal always worry me’, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness said that Arsenal fans are “going mad” at the lack of confirmed incomings so far this summer.
Premier League rivals Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea have all already started their transfer business.
Wyness added that there is “a lot of talk” but not much action at the Emirates.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “At Arsenal, I had expected something to have happened already in these first 10 days of the window, but nothing yet has been confirmed.
“Zubimedi was the one that everybody thought was going to be coming.
“Arsenal always worry me because there’s a lot of talk and everybody expects the incomings, and then nothing’s happening, everybody’s getting frustrated, and the fans are going mad.
“It’s an interesting summer, as we know, for Arsenal, and I hope they start to make some moves soon.”

Arsenal keep eye on Rogers
Meanwhile, Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Morgan Rogers’ situation at Aston Villa amid suggestions they may be forced to cash in on key players this summer.
That is according to former Man United and Aston Villa scout Mick Brown, who claims that the 22-year-old has attracted interest from a number of top clubs.
Arteta is keen to bolster his options both in midfield and out wide, and while they are targeting specialists in both positions, Rogers’ versatility is seen as an asset.
