Arsenal player ratings v Swansea: 20-year-old is 9/10 star
COMMENT By Matt Farr
Football Insider rates the Arsenal players during their comfortable 4-0 win over Swansea in the Premier League at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
Petr Cech 6 – Very rarely tested by Swansea. Enjoyed a rare quiet game in between the sticks for the Gunners.
Gabriel Paulista 6 – Pushed to right-back again in Hector Bellerin absence. Calm and assured throughout.
Laurent Koscielny 7 – Reliable as ever. Closed down well to deny Llorente and Sigurdsson time on the ball.
Shkodran Mustafi 6 – Few testing moments. Defence always on top.
Nacho Monreal 6 – Made it a forgettable day for Nathan Dyer. No real wide threat.
Aaron Ramsey 7 – Dictated the midfield well. Heavily involved in the final third. Bagged an assist.
Granit Xhaka 7 – Drove forward with purpose. Easily dominated the midfield.
Alex Iwobi 9 – Had a field day against a poor Swans side and was the star of the show. Always involved and a constant nuisance. Scored a deflected goal but it won’t count towards his tally.
Mesut Ozil 7 – A strong return to the first-team following illness. Made things happen in the final third.
Alexis Sanchez 8 – Heavily involved once again. Created chances, and took one for himself. Appeared frustrated to have been withdrawn late on.
Olivier Giroud 7 – Didn’t influence in the early stages, but was there when needed to put Arsenal ahead. Withdrawn with a suspected knock.
Subs:
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 6 (for Giroud 60) – Arrived with Arsenal already in cruise control. Looked lively.
Lucas Perez 6 (for Ozil 79) – Little time to influence the game.
Danny Welbeck 6 (for Sanchez 79) – Again, little time to influence proceedings, but an important run-out for the long-term injury absentee.
