Arsenal news: Kieran Maguire hails ‘excellent bit of business’ after new deal announced

Arsenal can maximise their commercial potential through their latest sponsorship deal.

That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Gunners’ new deal with Extramarks.

The Gunners announced last Thursday (3 February) that the education platform had signed as their new international learning partner.

The multi-year deal covers markets in India, South Africa, Indonesia, and the Middle East.

Arsenal and Extramarks will share marketing and logistic resources as part of the relationship.

Maguire insists that education is a perfect way to reach new fans overseas.

“If you get them young, you’ve got them for life,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“Fan loyalty domestically is a cradle-to-grave relationship. It tends to pass from generation to generation.

“But there’s a bit more fluidity in the international market in terms of supporter loyalty, I think.

“Because Arsenal haven’t been winning things and getting huge exposure that way, finding other ways of accessing a younger market is essential.

“That way, you can start to tailor pre-season tours and gearing other sponsorships deals towards those markets does make sense.

“So yes, excellent bit of business and one that will have synergies with the rest of their commercial arm.”

Arsenal are due to release their next set of accounts in the first quarter of 2022.

Arsenal posted a £54million loss in their last set of accounts, with commercial income accounting for £142.2m of their total revenue.
