Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus hailed ‘clever’ by pundit after manager’s reveal
Alan Hutton has claimed Gabriel Jesus will be the player to score goals for Arsenal next season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said Jesus’ versatility will be beneficial to the Gunners.
As quoted by Daily Mail (17 July) Mikel Arteta revealed he is “really happy” with how the 25-year-old has been performing in pre-season.
The manager added that the Brazilian has looked sharp and dynamic “straight away” after he helped the Gunners secure a 2-0 victory over Everton in a pre-season friendly.
Arsenal signed the forward from Man City for a fee of around £45million.
Jesus put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the London club.
When asked what the attacker’s role could be next season, Hutton told Football Insider: “Scoring the goals.
“You talk about players getting off to a flyer, he’s already done that in pre-season. He’s scored goals.
“We know what type of player he is, he likes to score he’s got clever movement, he links up play well. He’s versatile as well.

“I think they will play him as a number nine but the opportunity is there to move him around depending on who they are playing against. He gives Arteta that as well.
“So I think he could be a real good signing. I think they’ve done well getting him from Man City and I think he could do well.“
