Arsenal news: Medical expert names Aaron Ramsdale comeback date after ‘big’ announcement
Aaron Ramsdale could return to action for Arsenal within “two to three weeks” following his hip injury.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Ramsdale, 23, was sidelined for the Gunners’ 1-0 win at Aston Villa last Saturday (19 March), with Bernd Leno taking his place between the sticks.

As quoted by Sky Sports later that day, Mikel Arteta confirmed that Ramsdale would be “out for a few weeks” with a hip “muscle injury”.
And England announced yesterday (21 March) that the one-cap shot-stopper had withdrawn from the squad for the upcoming international friendlies.
Dinnery analysed Ramsdale’s setback and claimed it is a “big shame” he will miss out on the chance to impress Gareth Southgate.
“It could be the hip flexor, which relates to that groin area,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“It’s muscular, so we know it’s soft tissue. If it’s groin-related, that could be linked to the kicking mechanism.
“Arteta did reference obliques. That could indicate that injury was caused by twisting and turning and the dynamic nature of being a goalkeeper.
“Less likely is an impact injury, but you can’t rule it out.
“That would be some sort of external force from an opposition player or the keeper hitting the ground and getting some sort of contusion.
“But with the timeframe, we’re probably looking at some sort of strain.
“It’s a big shame for him but the international break comes at a good time in terms of its impact on a domestic level.
“Whether that is long enough for him to come back remains to be seen, but I would say two or three weeks is likely for this one.”

West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has taken Ramsdale’s place in the England squad.
Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Burnley’s Nick Pope are the other stoppers who could face Switzerland and the Ivory Coast in the next seven days.
