Arsenal stars being ‘hunted’ as Bukayo Saka footage emerges – pundit

Alan Hutton has claimed Arsenal players are feeling the pressure of being “hunted” by Man City.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the firmer Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said he knows from experience how intense pressure can “dent” performances.

For the second game in a row the Gunners sacrificed a two goal lead to draw against Liverpool and West Ham.

As shown on Sky Sports (18 April), Bukayo Saka missed a penalty in the 2-2 draw with the Hammers just before Jarrod Bowen went on to score the equaliser.

Arsenal are still four points clear of Man City ahead of their game against each other next week, but Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand on the league leaders.

Hutton insisted the pressure is getting to Mikel Arteta’s players.

Man City are obviously chasing them down and they have been there, done it before, bought the t-shirt,” he told Football Insider.

They do not really feel the pressure as much as Arsenal. They are being hunted week in, week out.

Being so far ahead and now the gap is getting cut week after week, it can be a very difficult position to be in.

I know from experience of playing that when the pressure starts to build it can dent your performances a little bit and I think we are seeing that.

They are going to have nerves, it is whether they can handle it. It is still in their hands they just have to hold their nerve.”
