Arsenal told by Campbell to complete striker and midfielder signings after Arteta reveal – pundit
Kevin Campbell has “urged” Arsenal to secure a star striker and a central midfielder in the January transfer window.
The former Gunners striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Mikel Arteta’s side are short-handed in central areas.
As quoted by the Guardian on 25 December, Arteta insisted Arsenal are “working to find solutions” ahead of the window.

The Gunners’ squad will be missing senior stars throughout January.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny and Nicolas Pepe will feature in the African Cup of Nations.
When asked where Arteta should be looking to strengthen in the winter window, Campbell told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “Striker and central midfield – no doubt.
“Those are the two positions where Arsenal are going to be a bit light in the next couple of months.
“There’s the situation with Aubameyang, and he and Partey are both off to the African Cup of Nations in a matter of days.
“If Arteta can go in there and do business in both positions then Arsenal will come out of January a lot stronger.
“If the funds are available, and the right player is there for the taking, I urge Arteta to do it.”
Arsenal could accelerate their pursuit of a striker following Aubameyang’s latest discipline breach.
Arteta stripped the Gabon international of the captaincy earlier this month (14 December).
Partey has been virtually ever-present for Arsenal since recovering from an ankle injury at the start of this term.

The Gunners sit fourth in the Premier League, four points clear of fifth-place West Ham.
Arteta’s side take on Man City on Saturday before their African contingent departs.
