Arsenal told Folarin Balogun ‘is not a £50m player’ after Sky’s five-player transfer reveal

Arsenal demanding £50million for Folarin Balogun is far too expensive.

Speaking exclusively to Football insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that the Gunners’ striker has not shown enough to be labelled as a £50million player.

According to Sky Sports (3 July), Arsenal are exploring “potential exit routes” for Nicolas Pepe, Folarin Balogun, Albert Sambi-Lokonga, Nuno Tavares and Cedric Soares with Balogun being valued at £50million.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (26 June) that Arsenal are ready to let Balogun leave the club this summer following his successful loan at Stade de Reims in the 2022-23 campaign.

He notched 22 goals and three assists across 39 appearances in all competitions in his temporary spell at Reims last term.

With a potential transfer on the cards, Agbonlahor believes the Gunners will struggle to receive £50million for the USMNT’s striker.

“He’s not a £50million player,” He told Football Insider.

“No offence to Balogun as he did do very well in Ligue 1 last season.

“I don’t think Arsenal will get such a high amount, and if we are being a bit more realistic I think clubs will only want to sign him on loan.

“If the Gunners are looking to generate a fee, I reckon they would be lucky to get around the £30million mark for him.

“One good season in Ligue 1 is not worth of a £50million move, despite him still being a young player.”
