Arsenal told ‘this is the time’ to complete Vlahovic signing after Romano update – pundit
Arsenal have to “go all out” to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic this month, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Gunners and Everton forward, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, fears increased competition in the summer window would see Mikel Arteta’s side miss out on the 21-year-old.
Arsenal are in the market for striker with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah nearing the end of their contracts and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having fallen out of favour.
According to Fabrizio Romano (18 January), the Gunners have been pushing to sign Vlahovic since October.
The London club are said to see the Serbia international as the “perfect” striker for their system.
Vlahovic has entered the final 18 months of his contract with Fiorentina and has not intention of putting pen to paper on new terms.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on the latest, Campbell said:
“I don’t think Arsenal can afford to wait until the summer to Vlahovic. If I’m honest, I don’t think they can.
“If they are going to secure him, it has to be now. When you get to the summer, everybody’s pockets are full. There will be incredible competition for his signature and I think Arsenal would miss out. This is the time to go all out to get him.
“All they can do is try. If he doesn’t come, then it isn’t meant to be. They have to try everything they can though.”

Vlahovic has been one of the standout players in Serie A this season.
He has scored 20 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions.
In other news, Arsenal have been lambasted by a pundit after an ‘absolutely disgraceful’ development.
