Arsenal transfer news: Agbonlahor issues ‘100%’ Bukayo Saka claim after confirmed update

Bukayo Saka “loves Arsenal” and will not make any unreasonable demands in order to stay at the club, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 20-year-old will stay at the Emirates Stadium even if the Gunners fall short in their quest for Champions League football this term.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano (28 March), Arsenal are preparing an opening proposal to tie Saka, who is currently contracted until 2024, to new terms.

When asked about the reports, as quoted by football.london (31 March), manager Mikel Arteta insisted he is “very pleased” with the England youngster but refused to comment on “conversations relating to private contracts”.

Saka has netted 10 goals in 33 games this term.

When asked if the midfielder could demand ambition from Arsenal in the transfer market as part of any new deal, Agbonlahor told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “I don’t think Saka will be asking for too many of those assurances.

“At the end of the day, Arsenal have given him that chance to play first-team football, to get England caps. He won’t be asking for too much from the club.

“Only when you get to your mid-20s do you start asking for a bit more ambition in the transfer market or specific goals in terms of league finishes.

“Saka will want a contract that he deserves – wages wise. But he loves Arsenal, he’s loving his football right now, 100%.

“He’ll leave the transfer business to Arteta.

“I think even if Arsenal don’t get Champions League football, he’ll look at the project and the improvement – and think ‘we’ll get it next season’.

I don’t see him away from Arsenal.”
