Sources: Arsenal register Leandro Trossard in time for him to play v Man United

Arsenal have completed the signing of Leandro Trossard and registered in time for him to make his debut against Man United, sources have told Football Insider.

It is understood the deal taking the attacker, 28, from Brighton to Emirates Stadium was finalised before the Premier League’s 12pm deadline for new signings to play this weekend.

Arsenal’s successful race-against-time bid should mean Trossard gets the all-clear to be available for selection for Mikel Arteta’s side for the mouthwatering Premier League clash against United on Sunday afternoon.

It comes after Trossard was granted permission on Thursday to head to the north Londoners to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of the deal.

Arsenal have agreed to pay Brighton an initial £20m that will rise to a potential £27m with add-ons.

The Gunners turned their attention to landing Trossard on Wednesday after snubs from three of their top forward targets.

Ukraine sensation Mykhailo Mudryk joined Chelsea last weekend after an astonishing £89million ambush, while Barcelona’s Raphinha and Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby are set to stay at their clubs after the Gunners registered their interest.

Football Insider broke the news last week (9 January) that Tottenham have had a verbal offer for Trossard rejected.

That offer was believed to have been worth around the £12m mark.

Arsenal have considerably improved on it as they look to provide Mikel Arteta with the attacking reinforcements he has made clear he needs following the knee injury to Gabriel Jesus.

Trossard has scored an impressive seven goals and registered a further three assists in just 16 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls this season.
