Arsenal will be ‘checking in’ on White after surprise confession – pundit
Arsenal will “check in” on Ben White to make absolutely sure he is meeting their required standards in terms of matchday preparation.
So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about recent remarks made by the 24-year-old defender.
Speaking to Sky Sports on 17 October, White revealed: “I didn’t ever watch football when I was younger and I still don’t now.”

White signed for the Gunners from Brighton in a £50million deal over the summer and is a fully-fledged England international.
He has featured six times for Arsenal this season and his new side have lost just once when he has been in the team.
Kenny claimed that White’s stance is unusual for a player in the elite echelons of the game but also revealed he sympathises with the centre-half.
“I was the same as Ben White,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“I didn’t really watch football outside my career, but I still did my homework. I’m sure at Arsenal they are required to do a lot of homework on teams.
“But as a footballer, you might play a game on the Saturday, then you have the Sunday off.
“Now, there might be three or four games on the telly on Sunday, but that might also be the only day you get to spend with your family.

“So at that sort of level, it is unusual but as long as he is doing everything that’s asked of him, I don’t really see a problem.”
“Arsenal might check in on him just to make sure he’s doing everything he needs, but I’m sure he is.”
