Arsenal ‘will sign Mykhaylo Mudryk for £65m’ as deal all but done – ‘someone told me,’ says pundit
Frank McAvennie has claimed Arsenal will have to bid £65million to secure Mykhaylo Mudryk’s signature.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said he has been told that a deal for Mudryk is “not far away”.
On 27 December, sources told this site that the Gunners are increasingly confident of securing a deal for the 21-year-old.
Arteta has been given the green light to sign the striker and wants a deal to be completed as soon as possible.
Mudryk’s contract runs until 2026 but Shakhtar have accepted that they will have to sell the winger.
The playmaker is a long-term target for Mikel Arteta’s side and has publicly declared his interest in joining them on multiple occasions.
Newcastle United have also registered their interest in a deal for Mudryk but the Gunners are in the driving seat and are pushing hard to secure a deal.
According to the Daily Mail (31 December), the London club had an offer of £45m rejected as Shakhtar value the Ukrainian at £85m.
But McAvennie suggested Arsenal will be able to get a cheaper deal.
“I think they will get him for about £65m,” he told Football Insider.

“They boy has come from nowhere, he has got blistering pace but he has only become noticed this season. Of course they will ask for more.
“But somebody told me they are not far away. If that is then case then it will be somewhere around £50/£60million, that would be a good price for him.“
In other news, Agbonlahor has suggested new Gabriel Martinelli move at Arsenal as £45m-plus bid tabled.
