Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard reacts to Matz Sels amid exit rumours

Arsenal star Leandro Trossard could be surplus to requirements this summer after the Gunners signed Chelsea winger Noni Madueke.

The 30-year-old joined the Gunners in January 2023 from Brighton and has become a key impact player often from the bench for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Arteta though has moved for left winger Madueke and already has Gabriel Martinelli in his squad, meaning Trossard could leave the Emirates in search of more regular playing time.

Bayern Munich are interested in a move for Trossard, who has just one year left on his current contract at the club.

Sels ‘recharging’ message prompts Trossard reaction

With pre-season preparations underway, Trossard featured in the second half of Arsenal’s 1-0 win over AC Milan in Singapore.

His Belgian compatriot Matz Sels has also started pre-season at Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest.

Sels took to Instagram to share pictures from pre-season training in Portugal, including a selfie with team mate Ibrahim Sangare.

The 33-year-old captioned the post: “Recharging in the Algarve,” which was liked by Trossard.

Forest will play fellow Premier League club Fulham and Portuguese side Estoril Praia whilst abroad.

Arteta now has three options for his left flank, meaning the Spaniard could cash in on Trossard before his contract expires next summer.

The Belgian has never been able to nail down a position in Arteta’s starting line-up on a regular basis, though his more technical approach makes him a different option to the pace of Martinelli.

Arsenal though are still exploring the possibility of a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, whose technical ability would bring extra dynamism to the Gunners attack.

Arteta wanted more squad depth in forward areas ahead of next season, and completing the signing of Eze would certainly put Arsenal in a stronger position next season to challenge on all four fronts.

Viktor Gyokeres is also expected to join Arsenal from Sporting Lisbon soon in a deal worth over £60million.

The club are under pressure to win trophies following three successive second placed finishes in the Premier League.

Arsenal also want to win the Champions League and fell short against PSG at the semi-final stage last season.
