‘Arsenal’s pursuit of Ademola Lookman boosted by domino effect’
Arsenal target Ademola Lookman could be on the move this summer with Atalanta closing in on a potential replacement.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from Italy with Arsenal, along with Nottingham Forest and Newcastle, exploring the possibility of a transfer.
Lookman has had previous spells in the Premier League with Everton, Fulham and Leicester.
His spell at Atalanta though has been the most rewarding with his hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final a standout moment.

Atalanta arrival may force Lookman move
The Gunners may require a Gabriel Martinelli replacement this summer after it emerged earlier this month that Bayern Munich had expressed interest in the Brazilian.
Mikel Arteta has been looking at signing a winger with Rodrygo from Real Madrid and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze linked.
However, a recent transfer move from Atalanta suggests Arteta could be lining up a move for Lookman.
It was reported in The Athletic that the Italian club have agreed a deal with Southampton for Kamaldeen Sulemana and the 23-year-old is also a left winger which could threaten Lookman’s place in the team.

Arsenal’s transfer dealings may decide Lookman future
Lookman has revitalised his career in Italy and the Nigerian international is now subject to plenty of interest.
Since arriving at Atalanta in 2022, Lookman has scored 39 goals in 93 appearances and has shone under the guidance of Gian Piero Gasperini.
Appearances | 96 |
Goals | 11 |
Assists | 7 |
Gaperini though has departed to take over at Roma which could also have an impact on any transfer decision Lookman makes.
A move for Lookman from Arsenal may depend on transfer activity and whether they are able to keep Martinelli at the club or land either Rodrygo or Eze.
Lookman though would certainly be a good option for Arteta to call upon, with Trossard’s more technical approach meaning Arsenal often lose pace down their left flank when Martinelli is not available.
After three years away from the Premier League, Lookman would come back a different player to the one that left Everton for RB Leipzig in 2019.
His previously poor goal record in the Prem should therefore not concern supporters from the outset, but he would be required to hit the ground running at a club like Arsenal.
