‘As I understand…’ – Journalist reveals Vitor Pereira compensation update amid crushing Wolves pressure
Vitor Pereira’s compensation package has been discussed after the Wolves manager was awarded a new contract for a positive run of games last season.
Despite leading the Old Gold away from the relegation zone last term, even finishing above Tottenham in the Premier League table, the tables have turned at Molineux Stadium.
Wolves drew 1-1 with Brighton before the international break, a result which gained the team just their second point of the 2025-26 campaign, leaving them at the bottom of the league table.
The manager was handed a brand-new deal one month ago, and even though they’re without a win in 11 matches running back to last season, Football Insider understands that Wolves are not considering sacking Pereira.

Wolves could soon consider sacking Vitor Pereira
Wolves need wins, and they need wins soon. With upcoming games against Sunderland, Burnley, and Fulham in the Premier League, Pereira’s side will be expected to get their season started.
Should the hierarchy decide that sacking the manager is the right decision, journalist Tom Collomosse has revealed what he understands about the financial situation around his departure.
When asked if Pereira is unsackable, he responded via the Daily Mail (17 October), “Certainly not. As I understand it, the severance money he’d collect if sacked is not that different from the sum written into his previous contract.
“So financially, at least, sacking him would not make much difference to Wolves. But equally, it wouldn’t look great for the club to be sending a manager on his way a matter of weeks after giving him a new three-year deal.”
How has 2025-26 changed Pereira’s record at Wolves?
Supporters were incredibly happy with how Pereira came into the club back in December, taking over from Gary O’Neil, who departed after a very tough run of results.
However, current form has now seen the manager’s win percentage drop to 41 per cent, and his only two victories of the campaign have come in the Carabao Cup against West Ham and Everton.
Losing Matheus Cunha was a huge blow. Nobody is denying that. But having retained Jorgen Strand Larsen and signed the likes of Jhon Arias, Toluwalese Arokodare, and Fer Lopez, there are no excuses for recent results.
