Football website TeamTalk claim the 30-year-old is set to join Championship rivals Sunderland, but he could now be tempted to stay at Villa Park if he is given assurances that he will be given a chance to replace Grealish.
Scoring a huge 120 Championship goals as well as laying on 58 assists in 333 appearances in the competition, McCormack has a ratio of being involved in a goal once every two games and that would see him be Grealish’s ideal replacement.
