Aston Villa backed to accept Danny Ings offer after London twist – expert
Alan Hutton has insisted Aston Villa won’t sell Danny Ings unless they have a replacement lined up.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Villa defender said Ings is too important to sell.
According to the Sun (7 January), Crystal Palace are interested in the 30-year-old and are on high alert given his recent lack of game time at under Unai Emery.
Eagles boss Patrick Vieira is said to be willing to take the striker on a loan deal or a permanent transfer if they can agree a cut price deal.
The forward’s contract at Villa Park runs until 2024.
When asked if Ings could be tempted by a move to Selhurst Park, Hutton told Football Insider: “I hope not.
“I think he is a really good football player. He was the captain of the side the other day so that kind of tells you how he is thought of inside the camp.
“I would not like to see him go. If he did I think they would be light up front. Unless the manager has someone in mind that he is going to bring in, you would never let him go.

“Palace are a good young team, they are playing a good brand of football under a good manager. I understand why they want him.
“But from an Aston Villa point of view, unless you are bringing somebody in to replace him, you do not even think about selling Danny Ings.“
