Aston Villa backed to pull off Tyler Adams coup after he tells Leeds he wants move – Agbonlahor
Aston Villa could be about to pull off a big coup by landing Leeds United’s Tyler Adams – even though a new midfielder should not be a priority.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor believes that Villa could look to strengthen the defence instead of the midfield.
Football Insider revealed that the 24-year-old told the Yorkshire club that he wants to leave this summer to avoid playing in the Championship.
Aston Villa, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest are all weighing up moves for Adams before the close of the transfer window.
With a potential transfer on the cards, Agbonlahor believes that Villa are already stacked in the middle of the park.
“Aston Villa have got Boubacar Kamara and Douglas Luiz who can already play there,” he told Football Insider‘s Bailey Keogh.
“John McGinn and Jacob Ramsey are also other options in the midfield.
“I don’t think we need midfielders, but when you’re playing so many competitions you can rotate around Tyler Adams in Premier League games and European games because of the Europa Conference League where you’re playing so many games and Villa will be going to try and win that.
“So maybe looking at injuries that might happen to players, I do like Tyler Adams, he could be amazing, and I’ve got no problem with the transfer.
“I just think that could they use that money elsewhere.

“Could they get in a right back in to put Matty Cash under pressure?
“This Aston Villa squad is looking perfect at the moment and if Emery wants 10 more midfielders every Aston Villa fans with him whatever he wants, he gets and he has deserved it the way he started at Villa as well.”
