Aston Villa could accept ‘£40m+’ Emiliano Martinez offer after source’s reveal – expert

Alan Hutton has suggested Aston Villa could accept £40million for Emiliano Martinez.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Villa defender insisted Martinez will stay until the end of the season and will want to bring in money for the club.

On Wednesday (21 December), sources told this site that Man United have a concrete interest in signing the 30-year-old.

David de Gea, 32, is out of contract in the summer and United have not yet triggered the 12-month extension to his deal.

The Red Devils have been impressed by Martinez’s time at Villa as well as his elite mentality which helped Argentina win the World Cup.

The shot-stopper has also been linked with Bayern Munich who are looking for a replacement for Manuel Neuer.

When asked if the Villans will be able to keep hold of Martinez after such an impressive World Cup display, Hutton told Football Insider:Hopefully.

I do not see why he would want to rush off unless there was a crazy offer for him. At the end of the day money talks and it has always been that way.

If a team fancies him and they come in for £40m or plus that then they will possibly think about it.

Villa took an opportunity when he was not playing, gave him that platform to show his ability so I am pretty sure he would want to repay that and definitely see out the season.
