Aston Villa fans fume as ‘disgusting’ Ezri Konsa footage emerges online
Aston Villa fans are furious after it appeared that Ezri Konsa started having a go at the away support after their 2-0 defeat to Wolves.
Unai Emery’s side suffered a massive blow to their Champions League hopes as they were once again undone at Molineux.
It was easily their worst result and performance of the season as they gave Wolves their second Premier League win of the campaign, and ensured they surpassed Derby County’s record low points tally with games to spare.
As a result, many of the travelling fans were furious, and when it appeared that Konsa was having a go at the away support, fury was unleashed.

Aston Villa fans fume at Ezri Konsa
Konsa has continued to be one of Aston Villa’s key players so far this season.
The centre-back has only missed one game in the Premier League to date this campaign as they look to qualify for the Champions League.
Even in recent weeks, when the Birmingham outfit have been dropping points left and right, Konsa continued to look impressive, and this continued on Friday.
However, this was soon spoiled as footage emerged of the defender having to be pushed away as he shouted towards the travelling fans.
As a result, many Villa fans were disgusted and were quick to take to X to lambast the 28-year-old.
Konsa going after fans is disgraceful especially for someone who was captain on the night. #AVFC

Absolutely disgusting. I really rate Konsa but being a captain and treating fans like that who pay hard earned money to watch you play is shameful.

“Want your support” start playing better and we might. #avfc https://t.co/im4y9FLnL4
Love Konsa but that was embarrassing. All the hard work is being undone, not by fans who are being fleeced to go, but the failure of players to step up in the absence of others. Wolves visibly wanted it more and that’s inexcusable #AVFC

Wish the team would show as much fight on the pitch as Konsa did to the fans at full time! #Avfc #Utv

konsa squaring up to us travelling fans at full time after that performance was disgraceful btw #avfc

Konsa. You’ve just been panned by worst team in the league while fans have expectations of meeting the clubs goals to become a CL team/not implode. Your slip gave them the match. Wind your neck in and be a captain, not an egotistical little whinger. You’re class, be classy. #avfc

Unacceptable from Konsa. Strip him of the captaincy in McGinns absence! #avfc

What are the odds Aston Villa qualify for the Champions League?
According to Opta on 28 February, Villa are still massive favourites to qualify for the Champions League.
The supercomputer believes that they have a 72.10 per cent chance of qualifying for Europe’s most prestigious competition.
While this percentage has dipped after their defeat to Wolves, it shows that qualification is still well within their hands.
However, it must be remembered that this is likely to dip further if Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool all pick up points over the course of the weekend.
Nevertheless, it has become clear in recent weeks that Emery has plenty of work to do if he wants the Birmingham outfit to finish in the top five come the season’s end.
If not, he may have to rely on winning the Europa League if he wants Villa to qualify for the Champions League.
