Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Andre Green display for under-23s

Andre Green scored for the Aston Villa under-23s on Monday night as they beat Norwich 1-0 – and fans on Twitter have hailed the youngster.

Winger Green slotted home Keinan Davis’ through ball just after the hour mark as the Villa youngsters picked up a valuable three points in Premier League Two at Carrow Road.

Steve Bruce has recently brought the highly-rated youngster into the first team squad as he has started two of the club’s last three matches in the Championship.

Supporters were glad to see Green producing the goods as they see it as another stepping stone towards regular first team football.

One fan stated that for his work rate and enthusiasm alone, Green should be given more shots at proving himself for the senior squad.

While another believes the attacking trio of Green, Davis and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy will be scoring goals for the first team in the future.

Overall, fans were pleased with Green’s performance and the fact that he managed to score the winner.

This season Green has made 12 appearances in Premier League 2, scoring four goals and supplying three assists.

Furthermore, the versatile attacker has played 11 games in all competitions for the senior side, starting three of those matches.

Green will be hoping to feature again for Bruce’s side when they welcome Ipswich Town to Villa Park this Saturday.
