Aston Villa fans slaughter 19-touch star after his display vs Bournemouth

Aston Villa fans have told people to stop comparing Morgan Rogers to Jack Grealish after his performance against Bournemouth.

Unai Emery’s side were held to a 1-1 draw against the Cherries at Villa Park as Ross Barkley’s goal wasn’t enough, with Evanlison scoring a 96th-minute equaliser.

However, it was a frustrating afternoon for Rogers who was unable to get into the game during his time on the pitch.

Emery decided to replace the 22-year-old in the 57th minute, which led to fans claiming that any comparisons to former Villa star Grealish now need to stop.

Rogers only made 19 attacking touches throughout his performance and ended up being dispossessed four times by Bournemouth players.

The attacking midfielder won just 14% of his ground duels and failed to make a single tackle as he struggled with the defensive side of his duties.

Aston Villa fans don’t want to see Morgan Rogers compared to Jack Grealish

Rogers might be a current Villa player, but their supporters don’t believe he’s reached the same level Grealish was at during his spell with the club.

The Man City winger made 213 appearances for the club, scoring 32 and providing 41 assists before his move to Pep Guardiola’s side.

Rogers had been getting compared to him by some fans, but his “poor” performance against Bournemouth has led to people calling for that to end.
