Aston Villa handed Ollie Watkins injury scare as photo emerges

Aston Villa have been handed an injury scare ahead of their upcoming Premier League fixture against Wolves on Saturday (21 September).

Ollie Watkins was spotted with an ice pack on after coming off during Villa’s 3-0 win against Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday night (17 September).

The 28-year-old striker was replaced in the 60th minute, and concern was raised after fans spotted him resting his ankle on the bench.

According to reports, Villa are not too concerned with Watkins’ situation, but the striker is due to be checked out on Wednesday.

The England international had made an impact during the game, picking up an assist as Villa kicked off their European campaign in style.

However, the focus will now turn to making sure that Watkins is fit and available to play on Saturday.

Aston Villa will want to rely on Ollie Watkins’ goals

Watkins has played in all four of Villa’s Premier League games so far this season but is yet to complete 90 minutes.

After failing to score in the first three games the striker opened his account last Saturday as Villa came from two goals down to beat Everton 3-2.

Watkins scored a brace in the game to help his team secure another three points, as Jhon Duran came off the bench to bag the winner.
