‘Aston Villa in talks over highly-valued keeper exit in January transfer window’
Aston Villa are in talks over the exit of their highly-valued keeper in this month’s transfer window, according to Tipsbladet.
FC Copenhagen have identified Villa’s shot-stopper, Robin Olsen, as their main target in the January transfer window.
The Swedish international has only appeared 11 times in the Premier League for the Villains since signing in 2021.
However, the former Everton man is said to be valued highly by Villa in a season where they are competing in the Premier League, Champions League and domestic cups.
Olsen began his career in Sweden and played for Copenhagen between 2016 and 2018 before leaving for Italian giants Roma.
Aston Villa may look to cash-in now to boost transfer window
Football Insider opinion
With only six-months remaining on his Villa contract, selling Olsen now may be appealing for the Midlands side.
Australian international, Joe Gauci, was signed in the summer and at 24-years-old is a great long-term option as a backup for Yashin Trophy winner Emiliano Martinez.

Villa have already considered selling a young player to avoid a points deduction, as reported by Football Insider finance expert Stefan Borson, and selling Olsen would further help the finances.
The Villains have also been linked with a return of former star player, Jack Grealish, should he leave Manchester City.
In other news, there has been an update on one of Villa’s main transfer targets.
