The former France Under-21 international has accepted the club’s contract offer and is set to imminently put pen to paper on a deal.

He will become Villa’s second summer signing following the capture of Philippe Coutinho, whose January loan has already been converted into a permanent deal.

Kamara has been the subject of extensive interest from clubs in top European leagues after running down his Marseille contract.

With his deal at the French giants set to expire at the end of next months, clubs including Newcastle and Arsenal have offered contracts to the Frenchman.

But Villa’s offer has been accepted and the club are now set to tie up the formalities of another signing.
