Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers responds to Jude Bellingham message

Aston Villa ace Morgan Rogers has responded to a message posted by Jude Bellingham after Real Madrid beat Sevilla 2-0 in La Liga on Sunday.

Madrid have failed in their quest to retain their Spanish top-flight title this season, instead losing out to fierce rivals Barcelona.

Hansi Flick’s men also beat Los Blancos 3-2 in last month’s Copa Del Rey final, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side have shown their class with back-to-back wins over Mallorca and Sevilla in La Liga.

Bellingham got himself on the scoresheet alongside Kylian Mbappe as Madrid left it late to beat a nine-man Sevilla on 18 May.

Bellingham is a key player for Madrid

After Los Blancos beat Sevilla, the England star posted on Instagram: “See you soon in the United States for the World Cup, Madridistas! Thank you for your support this season, even in the bad times. Hala Madrid always!”

Villa ace Rogers responded to the message as he commented with a baby emoji, while Bellingham’s younger brother and Sunderland star Jobe liked the post.

Villa’s Champions League destiny is out of their own hands

After reaching the Champions League quarter-finals this term, and enjoying a historic second-leg win over French Ligue 1 giants PSG, Villa will be desperate to enjoy their set at the top table of the European game once more.

The likes of Rogers and Ollie Watkins will be relishing the opportunity to test their skills against elite clubs and players such as Madrid and Bellingham.

However, Villa’s chances of finishing in the Premier League’s top five do not rest entirely in their own hands courtesy of Manchester City’s participation in the FA Cup final.

While City are hurting from their Wembley defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace, Pep Guardiola’s men now boast a game in hand over Unai Emery’s side.

Even if Villa beat Manchester United on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday, 25 May, it will not be enough to seal Champions League football if City win both of their remaining two games against Bournemouth and Fulham.
