Aston Villa news: Agbonlahor issues ‘5-0’ Leeds United prediction

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Aston Villa may beat Leeds United 5-0 on Wednesday night (9 February).

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer insisted Steven Gerrard’s side are better man-for-man than Leeds and should pick up the three points.

Gerrard confirmed today (8 February), via club media, he will have a full squad apart from Marvelous Nakamba, Leon Bailey and Bertrand Traore to choose from.

His side won 1-0 over Everton last time out (22 January) and after the winter break Agbonlahor expects them to be even better against Leeds.

He told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley: “Now it’s time for this Aston Villa team to start showing exactly what they’ve been coached by Steven Gerrard.

“He will have enjoyed having the winter break to get his ideas over every day. He’s had two practice matches against Brentford and Molde so he can see exactly where his team is at.

“Leeds will have been missing a few players, they’ve been in shaky form. Gerrard’s team man-for-man is better than Leeds, you’d fancy them to win.

“One thing Gerrard will want against Leeds is for them not to be overrun. Leeds are known for their hard work, they put in a lot of effort with their running. He will be telling them to not let them run harder.

“Under the lights at Villa Park, fans are going to be expecting a performance.

“I do think Villa are due to beat someone 3-0, 4-0 or 5-0. Tomorrow could go either way, it could be a tight game or because Leeds like to be end-to-end there could be a lot of goals in it and it could be 5-0.

“What I do know is, it’s very positive at Aston Villa at the moment. With players like Philippe Coutinho and Emiliano Buendia working together, I expect Aston Villa to get the three points.”
