Aston Villa told to forget Wilfred Ndidi and sign 25-year-old after source’s update – pundit
Paul Robinson has told Aston Villa to forget Wilfred Ndidi and concentrate on signing Brighton’s Yves Bissouma.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England goalkeeper is adamant Bissouma, 25, would be a better option than Ndidi, 25, for Steven Gerrard’s side.
The Daily Star reported (15 February) that Brighton’s Bissouma and Leicester City’s Ndidi are at the top of Villa’s shopping list this summer.

Gerrard is said to have been promised £50million to sign a new defensive midfielder.
However, a recruitment source told Football Insider (21 February) that Leicester want to keep Ndidi and are ready to offer him a new deal.
His current contract at the King Power Stadium expires in the summer of 2024.
When asked who would be the better option for Villa in the transfer market, Robinson told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “Bissouma is the one.
“He is a top player. I think he will go on to play at the top level.
“It would be a real coup to get Bissouma and it sounds like they could have got him in January. That would have been a great signing.

“I think there will be other suitors in the summer though. There will be bigger teams than Aston Villa looking at him.
“If Gerrard has earmarked the player and feels he can get him, he could make a real difference for them next season.”
