Aston Villa transfer news: New bid tipped for Yves Bissouma after £50m update – Hutton
Alan Hutton has tipped Aston Villa to reignite their pursuit for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma in the summer transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Villa star hailed his old side for remaining patient in the hunt to sign the 25-year-old.
As reported by the Express and Star today (2 February), Villa are expected to return for Bissouma this summer after baulking at the Seagulls’ £50million asking price in January.

The midfielder will have a year left on his contract at the end of the season.
Hutton admitted signing competition for Douglas Luiz was one area Villa missed out on in January.
However, he insisted Bissouma would be worth the wait.
“Yves Bissouma was the big one,” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“In the last few hours of the window, they were quoted £50million for him. He’s out of contract next season.
“That is a lot of money to be spending on a player who’s coming out of contract soon. They’ll probably revisit that in the summer.
“It was probably the one area you’d probably think (Villa missed out on in January). To bring somebody in as a little bit of competition for the likes of Douglas Luiz as well.
“I don’t think it’s an area they need to strengthen at this moment in time. I think it would have been better if they could have but it doesn’t necessarily have to happen now.
“Gerrard will probably revisit that in the summer. That’s what I like about Villa, they identify who they want and that’s who they go for.
“Yes, they probably have their A, B and C but initially, they want their first target and they’re willing to wait.”

Bissouma has played 111 times for Brighton since joining in 2018.
The Mali international has 15 appearances under his belt this season.
In other news, pundit claims Aston Villa have “finances in place” to seal lucrative contract deal.
