Sources: Aston Villa discuss multiple Alejandro Garnacho formulas as loan fee revealed
Aston Villa are in advanced talks to sign Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho, sources have told Football Insider.
The 22-year-old is in discussions about joining the Birmingham outfit on loan for the entire 2026-27 campaign.
Sources say the two clubs are also discussing an option to buy to be included as part of the initial temporary deal.
The Blues want at least a £5million loan fee for the attacker, who struggled to perform at Stamford Bridge last season.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Aston Villa were offered Liam Delap by Chelsea, but that was rejected. However, Unai Emery is willing to take in the striker’s teammate.
This comes after Morgan Rogers’ record-breaking move to Chelsea was confirmed on Tuesday.
The England international completed the move to Stamford Bridge for £117m after an impressive 20265-26 campaign.
Alejandro Garnacho looking to get career back on track
Garnacho’s career has taken a sudden downturn in recent years.
The winger fell out of favour towards the end of the 2024-25 campaign at Manchester United, which resulted in his sale to Chelsea for £40million last summer.
However, at Stamford Bridge, Garnacho struggled, and he only netted once and picked up four assists in 24 Premier League appearances.
As a result, the Argentine international was consistently dropped from the starting XI as Chelsea ended their campaign in disappointment.
However, Emery and Villa will be hoping to recover the winger’s form and transform him into a top player once again.
The club have had previous success doing this, with Marcus Rashford moving to Villa Park on loan in 2025 and was a big success.
Therefore, the club will be looking to repeat this process in the coming months if they can seal a deal for Garnacho.
Who else could Aston Villa sign this summer?
Former senior Aston Villa scout Bryan King exclusively told Football Insider that Jack Grealish could make a sensational return to Villa Park this summer.
The winger previously came through the Birmingham outfit’s academy, and was their star man before his £100m move to Manchester City.
Last season, he was on loan at Everton and was a big success before an injury ended his campaign.
The Toffees have been heavily linked with Grealish once again this summer. However, it remains to be seen where the winger will end up during the 2026-27 campaign.
