Bayern Munich plot shock Man City raid for ‘unhappy’ John Stones – sources

Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on Man City star John Stones as they plot another sensational Premier League giant raid, sources have told Football Insider.

Vincent Kompany is set to be appointed the new Bayern boss after talks took place overnight, as reported by Football Insider, and that could help pave the way for the deal.

Kompany is a huge admirer of the 29-year-old defender after playing alongside him for City.

Football Insider reported on 13 May that Stones is “very unhappy” with his lack of game time this season, opening the door for Bayern to make a move.

Bayern Munich want to sign John Stones from Man City

Stones started just one Premier League game between March and the end of the season, and has made just 26 appearances in all competitions for City throughout the campaign.

While he is considered a guaranteed starter for Gareth Southgate ahead of the European Championships, sources say Stones is concerned about his position with England in the long-term.

Interest from Bayern is intriguing, given that the club have already signed his England international teammates Harry Kane and Eric Dier.

With two years left on his current deal, a move away from the Etihad may present itself as an option for the centre-back.

Stones moved to the Etihad in 2016 in a £47.5million deal and he has gone on to make 256 appearances in total for the club, winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and a Champions League.

In other news, West Ham are powerless to resist City’s attempts to sign Lucas Paqueta.
