BBC pundit blown away by what England player did vs Wales – ‘world-class’

England produced arguably their best performance of the Thomas Tuchel era with a resounding 3-0 victory over Wales.

Ahead of the friendly clash at Wembley Stadium, Thomas Tuchel made the bold decision to drop Harry Kane, who was nursing an injury to his ankle.

Ollie Watkins, who replaced Kane in the starting lineup, was one of three first-half scorers, with Morgan Rogers and Bukayo Saka grabbing the other two goals for England.

Rogers and Watkins will have impressed Aston Villa fans with their performance after a difficult start to the campaign, but it was Saka’s outrageous goal that stole the headlines.

Bukayo Saka hailed as ‘world-class’ after stunning England goal

After getting back amongst the goals during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over West Ham at the weekend, Saka continued his form on the international stage.

The 24-year-old cut inside onto his favoured left foot and fired a missile into the top left corner to give England a three-goal lead.

It’s a signature goal from Saka that Arsenal fans have become accustomed to seeing, and it even left former Wales striker Nathan Blake stunned.

“That’s an absolute worldie. You see it so often these days, wingers on the opposite side,” Blake said on BBC Radio Wales. “I think David Brooks doesn’t think Saka can do what he does, that is world-class.”

It was recently revealed that Saka could become Arsenal’s top earner, and that would be a huge boost to everyone at the Emirates.

Saka makes history for England vs Wales

Saka’s first-half stunner saw the Gunners academy graduate create history, becoming Arsenal’s highest scorer for England with 13.

He’s overtaken the 12 netted by Cliff Bastin, which is remarkable considering he only celebrated his 24th birthday in September.

On his day, Saka is one of the best wingers in Europe, and if he can avoid any injuries, he will play a crucial role in Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League and England’s chances of winning the World Cup in 2026.

England are next in World Cup-qualifying action on Tuesday, 14 October, with the Three Lions hoping to seal their place in next year’s tournament.
