BBC pundits wowed by ‘incredible’ Sunderland star who ‘worked extremely hard’

Regis Le Bris will be hugely satisfied with how one of his biggest names performed away from Sunderland during the international break.

Sunderland lost 2-0 to Man United before heading into the two-week break, but even so, the Black Cats are sitting comfortably in ninth place in the Premier League table after seven games.

Le Bris’ side have pulled together after promotion, using the transfer market to strengthen quite brilliantly, and Granit Xhaka is now one of Sunderland’s most important stars.

Multiple key players appear to be going under the radar, however, but that is no longer the case after Northern Ireland’s impressive 2-0 win over Slovakia on Friday, 10 October.

Trai Hume leads by example away from Sunderland

As well as keeping a clean sheet against tough opposition, Trai Hume looped home a vital goal after Martin Dubravka‘s failed clearance, seeing Northern Ireland go level on points with Germany.

Speaking on BBC Two NI (10 October), Stuart Dallas said: “The finish from Trai Hume was incredible, and it was at the point of the game when you needed a goal to calm everyone down.”

Adding to Dallas’ comments, David Healy said on BBC Two NI, “Trai Hume is an incredible young man. He doesn’t get too high or too low, and he has worked extremely hard on his game.”

The 23-year-old has started all seven of the Black Cats’ Premier League matches so far this campaign, having also played a crucial role in their promotion from the Championship last term.

Regis Le Bris pushing for Premier League success with more transfers

Le Bris is clearly not satisfied just yet, with Sunderland eyeing Bologna’s Jhon Lucimi, a talented centre-back in Serie A, to shore up the defence at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats could have offered far more than they did against the Red Devils, and the defeat to Burnley will have really frustrated the manager.

With games against Chelsea, Everton, and Arsenal on the horizon, the newly promoted team will truly be tested over the coming weeks, and it will give an accurate representation of their season so far.

If Hume continues his current form, there is absolutely no reason why he cannot have the same kind of impact back in the Premier League, and therefore, take Sunderland to success.
