Ben Davies undergoing Birmingham medical after Rangers deal agreed – sources

Birmingham City have finalised terms on Ben Davies’ season-long loan move to St Andrews, sources have told Football Insider.

The deal has been agreed between the Blues and Rangers, and Davies will have his medical at the League One club later on Friday and into tomorrow.

The announcement of his signing is then expected imminently as the centre-back prepares to move south of the border.

Davies has played three times for Rangers this season, but Philippe Clement is still willing to let him leave Ibrox Stadium.

Birmingham want to sign a proven central defender who can instantly be placed into the starting XI moving forward.

His contract with the Scottish giants expires in 2026.

Birmingham City will bolster their defensive options with Ben Davies’ experience

Birmingham are aiming for an immediate return to the Championship, and bringing in Davies’ experience will be beneficial.

The 29-year-old has been playing in Scotland since 2022, but he does have experience in League One.

He played for Preston and Leyton Orient in the division, putting together 29 appearances over those spells.
