Benjamin Nygren: Celtic could be ‘forced’ to accept new Premier League offer
Benjamin Nygren could push for a way out of Celtic this summer with a number of Premier League clubs showing an interest in his situation.
The likes of Brighton and Bournemouth are believed to be among a number of sides tracking the 24-year-old, who has enjoyed an impressive season so far at Parkhead.
Should Celtic miss out on the Scottish Premiership title and subsequent Champions League qualification, they may have no choice but to let him move on.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that interest from the Premier League is hard to ignore for any players or clubs in Scotland.
The potential money on offer for Nygren could be a huge boost to Celtic ahead of a crucial window in which they know they must reinvest in their squad.

Football Insider revealed on 7 March that Celtic are reluctant to sell Nygren and hope to keep hold of him beyond the summer transfer window.
Links with a move to the Premier League are a reflection on how impressive he has been under Martin O’Neill, but it would take a big fee to lure him away.

However, amid suggestions the player could be keen to move on, Celtic may have no choice but to cash in should the fee suit them.
“It’s difficult for Celtic to keep hold of players like this,” Brown told Football Insider.
“When there’s interest from Premier League clubs, the player is always going to want to make the move, because it’s a step up on where he is at the moment.
“Especially if Celtic don’t manage to win the league, that will make it even more difficult.
“Brighton, Bournemouth and the majority of Premier League clubs will be keeping a close eye on the Scottish league to see if there are any standout players.
“Nygren has been terrific for Celtic this season, so I have no doubts he’s come up on their radars.
“If that interest is solid and one of the clubs decides to make a move, Celtic could be forced to let him go, because it will be in their best interest.
“He will be looking to make the move, and if the money is right, it will make sense for them to cash in and then they can go and spend on improving the squad.”
How does Nygren feel about leaving Celtic this summer?
Despite Celtic’s understandable reluctance to let their star man leave at the end of the season, there have been suggestions he is now keen to move on.
Football Insider revealed on 15 April that Nygren wants to join a Premier League club and has his heart set on a move to England, with teams now queueing up.

His reputation within the game has taken a significant jump during his debut season at Parkhead, having joined from Nordsjaelland last summer.
However, sources say he is now prepared to make another step up already and is assessing his options ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
While Celtic’s strong financial standing means they are under no pressure to sell players this summer, it may be difficult to turn down big fees if they are not in the Champions League.
