Beto and Jarrad Branthwaite react to Orel Mangala announcement at Everton
Beto and Jarrad Branthwaite have sent messages of support via social media after Orel Mangala underwent surgery in a major injury blow at Everton.
The Belgian midfielder has been ruled out until the end of the season with a cruciate ligament injury and has now missed victories over Leicester City and Crystal Palace.
David Moyes has already confirmed that Mangala will return to Olympique Lyon following his crushing Everton blow, leaving the supporters devastated by his early exit.
While it is a disappointing end to his time in Merseyside, the 26-year-old looks to be in high spirits after sharing an update on his surgery.

Taking to Instagram [17 February], Mangala wrote: “Surgery was successful – thank you to the medical staff that helped to complete it! Now my recovery begins.”
Beto, who has discovered a resurgence with the Toffees, replied: “My uncle,” while Jarrad Branthwaite and Dwight McNeil simply left likes on the social media post.
Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku and Nottingham Forest’s Neco Williams also commented, leaving a plethora of heartwarming emojis as the midfielder begins his long and painful journey to recovery.

David Moyes not to panic as Goodison Park returnees soften the blow
Football Insider verdict
Alongside the new Everton signing of Carlos Alcaraz, who has already hit the ground running at Goodison Park, Moyes has welcomed back some faces to the squad for the second half of the season.
James Garner has already slotted into Mangala’s vacant midfield spot while Tim Iroegbunam has featured as a substitute in the last four matches, having been sidelined since October.
The Toffees look to have finally found their groove on the pitch, with The Friedkin Group’s era well and truly underway, with appointing Moyes as Sean Dyche’s successor seemingly a masterstroke.
While Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja are major misses, Beto’s sharp rise in form has come at an incredible time, especially with Iliman Ndiaye recently taking a seat on the treatment table.
Sticking together has never been more important than a time like this for the Toffees. If the current trend continues, a top-half Premier League finish could be on the horizon.
