Betting latest: Tottenham and Everton joint faves to seal goalscoring midfielder swoop

Tottenham and Everton are joint-favourites to sign up Norwich midfielder James Maddison in the January transfer window, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
BetVictor have Spurs, Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal all priced at 4/1 joint-favourites to seal a swoop for Maddison, 21, by the end of this month.
Crystal Palace (10/1) and West Ham (12/1) are also seen to be in the running to sign the England Under-21 international, but it appears to be a four-way race between some of the Premier League’s big spenders.

The Mirror has recently reported that Tottenham and Liverpool are in the hunt to try and sign Maddison in the summer, however the market has still been opened on the Norwich attacking midfielder to leave Carrow Road in the current transfer window.
It was understood that it may be hard for the Canaries to cash in on the goalscoring midfielder this month in the wake of Alex Pritchard’s move to Huddersfield.
ESPN reported in November that Everton director of football Steve Walsh has been keeping close tabs on Maddison and went to personally scout him while playing in the Championship.
Maddison has been in fine for this season, scoring eight goals and supplying eight assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.
He netted on Saturday in the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
In other Tottenham news, this striker wanted by Spurs has completed a record switch after undergoing a medical.
