Bielsa told ‘don’t do that’ as Leeds taking ‘massive risk’ amid injury latest – pundit
Frank McAvennie claims Leeds have no choice but to sign a host of new players in January.
The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Whites can’t rely on youth.
Leeds continue to struggle through an injury crisis with Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling and Robin Koch all sidelined.

However, after Leeds’ loss to Arsenal in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, Bielsa told Leeds Live that Raphinha and Jamie Shackleton will return this weekend.
The Whites have been blighted by injuries all season with several Under 23 players named on the bench against Wolves last Saturday.
McAvennie insists Bielsa’s side must recruit as the Whites’ young players aren’t up to the task of replacing their senior teammates.
“I think they have to recruit,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They have always had a really thin squad. I say the same about West Ham but Leeds are even worse.
“They have to spend money, the people with the powers that be.
“Bielsa might think he can bring the young players in to help steady the ship but that is a massive risk.
“Don’t do that, it won’t work. I know Leeds have a history with youngsters but it won’t work.
“They have so many injuries and what if more get injured? What if those players don’t perform when they are back.
“New blood might just provide the lift they need.”

Bielsa’s side have only won once in the Premier League this season.
A last-gasp penalty stopped the Whites from losing again against Wolves last weekend.
