‘Big-money’ Lo Celso sale key to Tottenham completing multiple signings after source reveal – pundit
Tottenham could be forced to sell the likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele in order to be active in the transfer window’s final days, according to Alan Hutton.
The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the north London side could end up “taking a hit” on the 25-year-old Argentine.
As revealed by Football Insider via a Tottenham source on Monday (24 January), manager Antonio Conte and club chiefs have told Lo Celso he is free to leave before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Spurs will listen to permanent and loan offers for the Argentine, although a loan move is considered to be the most likely of the two.
Hutton suggested the proceeds of any potential sales could be “reinvested” into the squad in the last days of the window.
“Maybe Conte has been told he has to sell one or two players before multiple signings,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“Ndombele, Lo Celso, those guys – they could get some big money in which can then be reinvested into the squad.
“He could have looked at the squad and decided that he could do without Lo Celso.
“Sometimes you have to take a hit. If you pay big money for a player and they’ve not hit that level, you’re not going to end up recouping that money.
“It’s a shame because there’s a good player in there. But does he fit the system Conte wants to play? I’m not so sure.”
Lo Celso joined Tottenham for a reported potential fee of £55million in 2019.

Spurs are set to miss out on top January targets Luis Diaz and Adama Traore.
The forwards are ready to finalise moves to Liverpool and Barcelona respectively.
