Big-name Tottenham pair could push to quit after Ivan Perisic reveal – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn could push to leave Tottenham after Ivan Perisic’s arrival.
The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the pair may have concerns over their game time heading into the summer window.
As confirmed on Tuesday (31 May), Tottenham have signed Perisic, 33, on a free transfer following his exit from Inter Milan.
The versatile Croatia international has played as both a wing-back and a winger in recent seasons.
With the likes of Bryan Gil also set to return after a loan spell away, Hutton suggested other attackers may be looking for moves this summer.
Asked if Moura and Bergwijn would be considering their futures at Spurs, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Definitely. Gil is a young player that has just been brought into the club. He’s still going to have time.
“The likes of Moura, he lost his place to Kulusevski. You’ve got Bergwijn who was even struggling before Kulusevski came in.
“It is a situation where these players are going to think: ‘Should I sit here and fight for my place? Or do I want to go play football?’
“I think that they’re at different ends. Lucas Moura is a little bit older than Bergwijn, who is still relatively young. However, I think you want to play football, no matter what age you are.
“If they haven’t got guarantees of breaking into this team and you see people coming in in your position, it’s probably time to move on.”

Bergwijn started eight times in 32 appearances across all competitions for Spurs during the 2021/22 campaign.
Meanwhile, Lucas made 26 starts in 45 games.
